The Duchy of the Reach

The Duchy of the Reach
Capital: Caronis
Population: 150,000
Religions: Cuthbert, Heironeous, Olidammara, Fharlanghn
Symbol: A Plow
Military Forces: A good balance of medium-armored spearmen, swordsmen, and peltast-like skirmsihers. They have heavy cavalry, but they are relatively smaller in number than elsewhere in the kingdom. Spellcasters are druids. The Reach makes effective use of scouts, particularly rangers.
Ruler: Duke Bennal Tyneman

The Reach is rich in farmland and population. Numerous villages line the river, and they have extensive trade networks with the farming villages inland of them. The Reach contributes the most levies and knights to the nation’s defense, and is widely considered the most powerful fief.
The common folk of the Reach are the heroes of their stories and lore, not the knights and nobles. Think more Canterbury Tales and less Camelot. The nobility from other regions feel like the Reach folk are “uppity”.
The common folk speak Velondi as often as they do Common. They often use this to avoid dialogue with strangers.
The Duke is barely 20 years old. His father drowned in a flood while trying to save members of his bodyguard about a year ago.
